✺ MAKER MOMENTS

Today, I’m excited to share a little slice of my home with you! I've always loved adding personal touches to my space, especially through handmade items. One hobby of mine is painting ceramic objects, transforming them into unique pieces that reflect my style.

Each of these pieces adds a bit of charm and personality to my home. I hope they inspire you to create something that makes your space truly yours!

INSPIRATION EVERYWHERE

A Chair and You

This edition takes us to an extraordinary exhibition at the Grassi Museum of Applied Arts, titled "A Chair and You." This isn't just any display; it showcases one of the world’s largest private collections of chairs, spanning designs from the 1960s to the present. The collection, passionately gathered by the Genevan entrepreneur and collector Thierry Barbier-Mueller, features over 150 chairs designed by luminaries from the worlds of art and design.

Curated by the renowned American director and artist Robert Wilson, the exhibition transforms these everyday objects into the stars of a theatrical spectacle. Immersed in sound, light, and design elements reminiscent of stage sets, visitors experience an 'opera' in four acts, where each chair tells a part of the story of art and design from the past six decades.

From the playful designs of Ron Arad to the sculptural forms of Martino Gamper and the minimalist works of Donald Judd, this collection celebrates the chair not just as a functional item but as a piece of art. Each chair in the exhibition stands out for its uniqueness, humor, and materiality, inviting us to see the ordinary in extraordinary ways.

"A Chair and You" redefines our understanding of this ubiquitous object, turning the humble chair into a canvas of creativity and a mirror of its times.

✺ RANDOM FACT

The Colorful History of Pantone. 🟡

Did you know that Pantone, now a major authority on color, began as a small business focused on commercial printing? Founded in the 1950s by Lawrence Herbert, Pantone originally produced color cards for cosmetics companies. Herbert, who bought the company in 1962, revolutionized the industry by developing the Pantone Matching System (PMS), a standardized color reproduction system.

This system, introduced in 1963, allowed designers to "match" colors no matter where they were in the production process, ensuring that the colors in the design stage would be the same when printed on any material. Today, Pantone's color guides are essential tools for designers, artists, and manufacturers around the world, influencing product development in multiple industries, including fashion, home decor, and industrial design.

Pantone’s influence extends beyond just providing color guides; it annually declares a "Color of the Year" which not only reflects color trends but also the cultural mood of the moment. This tradition has turned Pantone into a global trendsetter in color and design.
